If that were the case, it could be possible, therefore that the portion of Pitkin Av under which the station is reputed to be was built by the city to accommodate the route in much the same way as 6 Av in Manhattan was extended south from w 3 St to Canal St to meet Church St. However, if Pitkin were not a through street, where did it end since the Fulton St el structure was over Pitkin Av until Euclid where it turned north to Liberty Av.
