As I mentioned in my other post, the city may well have extended Pitkin in the same way it extended 6 Ave in Manhattan for the specific purpose of extending the subway. That may also explain why early plans for the IND east of Rockaway Av call for the subway to go either straight out Fulton St under the Jamaica Line or curve under Liberty at Penna Av instead of going all the way to Pitkin as it does now. |
