Actually, N/O the station, there were no support pillars between the two express tracks since there had to be a space left for a diamond Xover. To compensate there were additional columns placed between the local and express tracks on both sides to provide sufficient support for the tunnel roof. That being said it does seem obvious that the IND did know that Rocky Av was going to have to be used as a terminal for an extended period of time until the location of the route east of there was finalized. |
