Other issues would be getting the passengers from GCT to NYP assuming that ticketing would still be to Penn since no Amtrak ticket facilities exist at GCT. Also it would require Amtrak to supply jitneys to shuttle folks back & forth to NYP/GCT for thru passengers. Toss in some mechanical forces & car cleaners & cust service reps to act as traffic cops pointing confused passengers in the right direction & now its starting to get expensive. With budget issues still a big question mark, I'd be suprised if this move becomes reality if its only going to be a for a few months. |
