The issue is not station slots, but what slots. Empire et al come in on a single track that reaches a limited number of switches. If those switches are out it can not be rerouted through a different switch.

So Occasional station swap may occur. But that will not help NJT if the slip switches are out.


Better would to be to terminate at Harriman and let Meatball Norsk bring them home.
