More accurately every Empire train they remove is one more NJT train that won't be cancelled.I can see the Cardinal, a poor performer on the north end of its run, being combined with another train. It is reverse peak, but still takes up a station slot in the AM. I think it would just be Albany round trips that do not form couplets with any 280 series trains. They also have a habit of truncating one NFL train every summer for CSX track work upstate. The Adirondack has a unique consist with Am-1 and Am-2's and dinnete car in the middle. The Maple Leaf is much like the Pennsylvanian/Palmetto (that is a joint cycle). Lake Shore often cycles as a Silver train to Hialeah for maintenance. |
