Well you can say that..they were NEVER much good right out the gate..but when they were pressed into EE/GG service[sometimes running on the RR as well]they went downhill very quickly..never keeping time on the line..

The TA knew this,but kept them around because of the R44 problem.
Not only that...but the R4/9 cars were failing very quickly...so they had to run SOMETHING...
