It's good for the old Sardine to be back on this chat board after the Pirmann fiasco on nycsubway.org, and even better to see that some of my old chat buddies are using their old handles.

I want to start a new thread. Who remembers and rode on the old Myrtle el (MJ line) before 1969? Several of the posters in this thread are dead on: no one ever called the two lines on Myrtle by their old BMT numbers. The Manhattan train was the metal train, the Jay Street train was the wooden train. No one in Ridgewood, Middle Village or Glendale ever needed signs for this one.
