I rode those Q's to high school from Fresh Pond Rd to Bridge Jay St from 1959 to 1963, one time coming home from h.s., one of the boys ( an all boys h.s. ) had several bottles of apple blossem, and he broke them in the 3rd car, well that smell was like the worlds biggest fart,so this four car train headed back to Metropolitan Ave, there were only two people in that car when the train pulled into Fresh Pond Rd, a sleeping drunk, and an old woman who probably couldn't smell anything anyway maby was wondering why the whole train was full of passengers and her car was empty, people would dash into the car when the doors opened then dashed right back out again to another car allready being full,we were in the 4th car and was watching this whole scene unfold,I also took the Q's to work changing at Myrtle & B'way to head to Manhattan...yes I loved the Q's the only trains in the whole U.S. that had link and pin couplers.
