My obvious question is: will the R-179s be compatible with the R-160s and if not, why not? I remember back in the days when SMEEs were state of the art, NYCTA contracts specified that new cars be fully compatible with any and all existing NYCTA equipment from R-10s up to the last previous contract. For the sake of fleet stability it should still be a non negotiable absolute requirement that the R-179s MUST be fully compatible with all current NTTs!!!!! |
