The DE30-powered trainsets idle every weekday from about 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. There's nothing in the yard at night or weekends.People come to look at condos in the area on weekends, when there is no train traffic and the streets are empty. Sales agents won't say, "Hey, on weekdays this area is a very busy transit hub". Crowds at the Vernon/Jackson 7 station, Midtown Tunnel traffic jams, and the LIRR activity. New tenants probably flip out their first weekday morning in their expensive new apartment. |
