True, but even if somewhat different situations, the original post mentioned something like "the LIRR doesn't bend for anyone" or something to that effect. Why should the LIRR bend though? The yard was there first, they aren't doing anything different than when the condo people bought their units. In NY state it's "buyer beware". If they didn't do their research before buying, that is THEIR problem, not the LIRR's. And I am SURE these condos, even if "luxury", are still cheaper than other condos that are similar in a neighborhood where there is no train yard.I have no sympathy for people that buy something cheaper than some better location, and then expect everyone to bend around them. |
