The reason anything gets said "when a republican does it" is because their intent far more often than not is to discriminate and repress large parts of the population they do not like.I would support any republican stating that they feel their religion mandates them to enforce laws protecting the environment. Do notice I'm not holding my breath, although the irony here is that it once was their issue. |

They are causing Global Cooling!!! Oh, the data doesn't support it and the earth is now warming? Time for a new hypothesis. Business is bad -- we must crush business! They are causing Global Warming!!! Rut Roh -- the data says the earth isn't warming for the past 15 years, even though everything in our theory says it should be warming faster than ever. We're gonna need a new theory. Global Temperature Stagnation is bad!!! The earths temperatures have been alternately cooling and warming for thousands of years and now they are stable!!! This is being caused by CO2 emissions and pollution. Business is evil!!! What will become of our grandchildren??? And the penguins and zebras??? Somebody do something!!! |

Yet a high ranking official felt the need to use Genesis as a reason for it. In a speech about how we're all linked together and how religion tells us to help each other and be responsible, it would be out of place to mention the reasons for being responsible stewards of the Earth is only for scientific and practical reasons, wouldn't it? His speech is basically saying that if you follow religion, you should know that religion is telling you these things. Does the data support there being an issue?Do the recent observations support any of the claims being made 15 years ago? Do the recent observations actually contradict the assertions being made 15 years ago? Are people able to make a living by being "climate change" experts? Have there been instances of data fudging by those same people who are making their living on being an "expert" in order to make the case for global warming? Were the alleged causes of global cooling the "usual suspects" / "convenient scapegoats" for the political ideology most outspoken about global cooling? Were the alleged causes of global warming the "usual suspects" / "convenient scapegoats" for the political ideology most outspoken about global warming? Were the alleged causes of global cooling and of global warming one and the same? Was the political ideology advancing that global cooling was a crisis the same ideology that was advancing that global warming was a crisis? Were school children in the 1970's given assignments to warn of the dangers of global cooling and bring these home to their parents? Were school children in the 1990's given assignments to warn of the dangers of global warming and bring these home to their parents? Are school children today given assignments to warn of the dangers of climate change and bring these home to their parents? Are the political interests of the teacher's unions generally aligned with the political ideology advancing that global warming and cooling were crises? Is the timing of the renaming the issue from "global warming" to "climate change" not conveniently timed alongside the recognition that the data from the last 15 or so years show no consistency with what was projected by the global warming alarmists? ----------- Last, but not least, even if the answers to the above questions do not raise your skepticism meter and you think that "Global Climate Change" is an urgent concern -- then how do you answer this question Given the (in)accuracy of nearly all the theories and causation analysis so far, how can you be certain that whatever remedy is being proposed isn't actually going to make the problem worse? ----------- The world has warmed and cooled for thousands of years.
