You asked if I thought there might be an "issue". Now you've asked if I believe there has been some man-made global warming.I don't think there is an "issue". There may or may not have been man-made global warming -- but I don't think there is any meaningful consequence to it if it did/does happen. Now I'll ask a few questions for you to dodge... Why do you think there is an "issue"? What should be done if there is an "issue"? What level of credibility do you assign to the current state of science on the "issue"? What level of credibility do you assign to the state of science on the "issue" circa 1973? What level of credibility do you think you would assign to that 1973-era science if we were having this discussion in 1973? |

Why do you think there is an "issue"?Because there is extensive scientific evidence that increased levels of CO2 in the air are correlated to higher global temperatures. And because an additional rise in global temperature of several more degrees Celsius will be far more expensive for the world economy to handle than trying to head it off by creating reasonable incentives for reducing the consumption of fossil fuel. What I would like to see is more research into possible negative feedback mechanisms. Just because selected scientists were wrong in 1973 (and there was far less research then than there is now) doesn't mean they are fully wrong now. I definitely think some scientists are crying wolf. That doesn't mean we can assume there is no wolf. |

Well, "climate change" actually dates back to 1988, when the UN created the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). From there we got those infernal "Earth Summits" and the propaganda about so-called "greenhouse gases", which led to "climate models" that omit atmospheric water from all of their calculations. |

The supposition that the world is going to warm by several more degrees Celsius in our lifetime simply isn't borne out by any recent empirical evidence. The scientists were wrong in 1973. They were wrong again in the 1990's. There was a clear political agenda behind the "science" both times. Why don't you have more skepticism towards it? |
