Yet a high ranking official felt the need to use Genesis as a reason for it.

In a speech about how we're all linked together and how religion tells us to help each other and be responsible, it would be out of place to mention the reasons for being responsible stewards of the Earth is only for scientific and practical reasons, wouldn't it? His speech is basically saying that if you follow religion, you should know that religion is telling you these things.

I also noticed that no one (especially Breitbart) seems to be complaining about how he quoted Jesus as a reason for helping other people. Why is that?
