Keep left? I always thought the left lane was the passing lane. I was once told (not that I follow it) that if there are 3 lanes, the left is passing, the center is regular travel, and the right is for exit / entry. In practice, I find the right is for speed limit and under, the center is for just above the limit, and for passing a car in the right lane, and the left lane is for way above the limit / passing a car in the middle lane.
