DD may be the most popular reality show ever, but I don't watch it.Whether or not canning him or taking him back was a good idea is not the point. The market will decide that. The big question is for you to understand what you're impliedly asking for: just as under McCarthyism (which I remember first hand) you are a member of a group that CURRENTLY has the power of economic life and death over people in the public eye. Under McC you couldn't say anything approving about the Soviet Union without risking your job in certain industries. At least then it took weeks or months to be destroyed. Now it seems it can be done in a single news cycle. Eventually McCarthy overreached when he took on the Army. Remember a paraphrase of an old adage: be careful who you savage on the way up in power; you'all see the same people on the way down. |
