If gays had the "power of economic life or death" over people in the public eye, don't you think folks like Robertson wouldn't be so comfortable spewing their hatred? Besides, again, Robertson freely signed a contract with A&E...all of these television contracts have ethics clauses. That means you can't say things in the media that would tend to hurt the network's brand or public image.If I said publicly that men should marry boys when they are 15 years old, what do you think would happen to me? Don't I have the same First Amendment rights as Robertson? |
