Posted by Catfish 44 on Tue Dec 25 13:42:47 2012 When exactly was 100 retired? I'm looking at photos of it on the Culver shuttle from '71. It looks repainted with the clear windows replaced opposite the motorman's cab. In '68, '69, and '70 it is dingy looking and on the West End, Coney Island, and 42nd Street. After a cleaning up throughout 1971 it looks like its in service, Although I realize it may have been involved in fan trips, the pictures on nycsubway.org usually indicate as such. These don't. Furthermore, there is a picture of her in 1974 in the Coney Island yard with a nice letter M below the number. Plus there is one of 100 in 1973 on the Broadway line signed up as QB. The picture was taken, according to the profile, Tuesday, August 7, 1973. Fan trip on a Tuesday? What gives?Merry Christmas to all by the way. |
