As I understand it, #100 was withdrawn from regular service and cleaned up in 1971. I believe those Fan Trips in the early 70s were similar to the Holiday Train of today- added runs in service. In 2004, the Holiday Train ran, in service, as a W- Whitehall to Ditmars Blvd. on Friday, 10/29, to observe the 100th anniversary of the subway.Yes, I know the 100th Anniversary was 2 days earlier- and there weren't Arnines in 1904. But that's (and IRT SMEE cars on the TS shuttle) was how they observed it in 2004 |
