While on the Prima Facie it can be interpreted like that, it was really a unique situation that the United States was in. I'm talking about the Civil War. Since President Lincoln did not recognize the secession from the South, during the years at the Civil War was fought, it basically was one part of the United States against the other part of the United States. The South lost, the Confederacy lost. |
