Since all terminals must be served by trains that go to Howard Beach and Jamaica (to give all passengers access to either one) you can catch either train - which means if you get off one at the airline terminal, you can catch the other as well. |

Take the Airtain to Federal Circle, then the HBbound car to Lefferts Blvd. It's a good walk to Aqueduct (20 minutes) but you pay only $5 for the Jamaica entry, no fare is collected at Lefferts because it is the Long Term Parking area. |

Actually, it would be $20 + the swipes to the "A" train at Howard Beach and Aqueduct-North Conduit. I like the idea of walking from Lefferts AirTrain Station. You could walk on the roadway that crosses the Belt Pkwy and goes directly into the track. Probably would take less than 20 minutes... |

Air Train's Jamaica station is near a lot of businesses, so I suppose people traveling from Howard Beach (a mostly residential community) could use it to go there. I do't know how much demand there would be from that particular commute. |

Both Jamaica and Howard Beach are entry & exit pay stations; other stations are all free. You can take the J from Suthphin westward (southbound) to 111th St. (two stops) and then the Q37 bus; or the J four stops to Woodhaven Blvd. and then then Q11 bus. $4 round trip. |

My suggestion. Take the train from Jamaica around the loop to federal circle and catch either the Q10 or B15 bus. It would only be $5 instead and would be cool to see the sights of the line. |

The stipulations in building airtrain was a surcharge put on airline tickets. I believe there's something that said it's to be used strictly for travel to and from the airport. That's also why there isn't any intermediate stations outside either. That would also include using it to travel between Jamaica and Howard Beach.....but don't quote me on that, I think I read that here once, so that may or may not be fact. |
