The R-16s were already on the RR Line by late 1967 and the Eastern Division retained the R-27/30s along with some R-42s even if it was primarily for the convenience of the Brighton passengers. Actually, the R-7/9 cars went into the Eastern as soon as Chrystie opened and were used on the rush hour only JJ service until 1968 when the KK route was established. The J only got the R-7/9s after it was swapped off the Brighton Line with the M which then got the R-27/30s circa 1972. |
