Actually, the older wrecks assigned to the (E) were truly on their last legs. Even over on the D, we got some real junkers with the logic used elsewhere that they only rolled as put-ins for rush and got put back as soon as they got there. IF they got there. :)The lower numbered ones though all had serious sclerosis of the air pipes and all sorts of problems that they weren't going to fix. They did set aside a few cars for new piping, compressors and such but I don't know what ever came of that. The 7's and 9's though were in better shape than the rest. But I'm guessing that the wrecks only came out to play for rush hours like over on the D. |
