Chris, that remark is wrong, and highly offensive to those of us who work in the media, to say nothing of the astonishing level of disrespect you are displaying here. Whatever her faults, (and the anti-Jewish remark Ms. Thomas made was horrible), Helen Thomas was an icon of political reporting we're not likely to see again anytime soon. She covered every American President--from the White House--since JFK, and her contributions to the average person's understanding of the Presidency are a priceless historical gift.Her comments were indefensible, but her life and work are far larger than her poor judgment in this affair. Your derisive slur against her is reprehensible. |
