That said, Lott goofed by resigning his leadership post.He didn't goof in resigning. He was forced out. He lost President Bush's patronage, and Bill Frist forced him out, supported by enough in the GOP Senate caucus. Politicians know how to count, and Mr. Lott knew that he was cooked. |
