I know the reason.I also remember when they renamed East 53rd Street to East 53rd Place between Avenue T and U in order to rename Amersfort Avenue to East 53rd Street. This enabled one block in Brooklyn to follow Queens Street logic and the intersection of East 52nd Street and East 53rd Street. This made things clearer? |
