You really like those cars don't you? It's a shame St. Louis Car didn't do a good job in building carbon steel fleets that are less prone to wear and tear. I guess structural durability for daily operations was the price paid for using cheaper metals. The MTA wanted to retired them after only 20 years of service? What does that tell you about them? The R16's were poorly built equipment.
