Jail The Parents

So subway surfing has opened up to females. 2 of them, one just 11 years old fell from the roof of a #7 train at 111th St. One died and one is in critical condition. The post is reporting that this is the 6th death this year. That seems low considering how often we are discussing this. Another pre-teen died in Chicago this weekend - same story.

Now we can blame the MTA for not ending the practice. Granted, there are things that could be done but from my perspective the blame needs to be placed on the parents. How is an 11 year old, especially an 11 year old female, running the streets, unsupervised at that hour - at any hour? Where were the parents? Why are they not under arrest for child neglect?
