For starters, we need parents actually interested in their kids. The idiot mother on transit ignoring the kids while texting... is emblematic of way too many people who should never have given birth.Proper child raising includes taking the kids on trains, streetcars, . Several of my "god children" had early experiences of steam excursions. More recently, I took a 10 year old neighbor kid for a ride on BART, Amtrak Capitol Corridor, VTA LR, and BART back home. He got to experience eating a pizza in the cafe car. He will not be out 'surfing' on BART. |
