You Can't Mean That - Could You? (Re: Finally, Someone Gets Cancer Who Deserves It) |

Posted by Mitch45 on Wed Mar 28 07:48:30 2007, in response to Finally, Someone Gets Cancer Who Deserves It, posted by Jersey Mike on Tue Mar 27 18:41:17 2007. I hope your remark was simply a transference of anger at President Bush to his subordinate, and that you didn't really mean what you said.My guess is that you've never experienced seeing and living with a person suffering from cancer. If you had, you wouldn't make this remark. Let me give you just one example. I lost my mother to cancer a year ago. The disease took a happy, outgoing 75 year old grandmother of three and in nine short months, turned her into a shrunken, bald, misshapen, twisted shell who couldn't walk, or speak, or even urinate on her own. Her suffering was beyond comprehension, because not only did she know she was going to die, and soon, but she had no dignity in her remaining days. No one, except Adolf Hitler, deserves this kind of fate. And you're wishing it on him simply because of his job and his political ideology. Has Tony Snow ever harmed you personally? I hope you didn't mean it. Because if you did, then you're worse than an asshole - you're ignorant too. |

Who are we to wish that on anyone?Humans are the ones who suffer when megalomaniacs build their "utopias," not God. Why should the perpetrators of misery not suffer commensurately? I do not believe that God makes good people suffer needlessly. It is our duty to make bad people suffer needfully. |

Everyone lives with cancer cells in them all the time. You only get cancer when your body can't kill them off as fast as they are being produced. Stress affects your immune system. If you are a "nice" person, more things bother you so you are under more stress. Nasty people let things slide off them. If someone close to them hurts them, they don't really care, so less things bother them so they are under less stress.Unless you know Tony Snow personally, you don't really know what type of person he is. Perhaps he is under a lot of stress having to say things he really doesn't want to say. I really think the reason John Edward's wife's cancer returned was because of her husband's decision to run for President. It has to be stressful for the both of them. But they are too dumb to see that, being more concerned about the possibility of being in the White House than just being alive. Be interesting to see if Ron agrees with this analysis. |

There's an interesting difference. Mike bafflingly rejoices at the suffering of others, while conservatives (not all Republicans) pretend to care about suffering, but don't put their votes where their mouth is. They vote down stem cell research, they vote to allow higher levels of arsenic in drinking water and other things. What's better, saying you are happy about something bad that you have no control over, or having control over the suffering of others, but doing nothing? |

You just made absolutely no sense, as well as posted sweeping generalizations. They vote down stem cell research "They" is a generalization. If you're talking about the neoconservatives, IIRC they voted against embryonic stem cell research, with new embryos. There is more than one type of stem cell that gets researched, you know. they vote to allow higher levels of arsenic in drinking water and other things You need to stop getting your six-year-old "news" off the World Socialist Website. Perhaps you are unaware that the 10 PPB level has to have been complied with by January 2006 and the 50 PPB level is no longer in force? If you don't believe me, then believe the EPA. What's better, saying you are happy about something bad that you have no control over, or having control over the suffering of others, but doing nothing? You have not created such a comparison. If you're talking about the neoconservatives, IIRC they voted against embryonic stem cell research, with new embryos. There is more than one type of stem cell that gets researched, you know.It isn't a generalization, I already posted who "they" are. And yes, conservative is a generalization here, but all of those people who voted against it are conservative, even if not all conservatives voted against it. You need to stop getting your six-year-old "news" off the World Socialist Website. Perhaps you are unaware that the 10 PPB level has to have been complied with by January 2006 and the 50 PPB level is no longer in force? If you don't believe me, then believe the EPA. Who was in favor of the higher level in the first place? And you'll never find a justification for Jerky Mike's outburst. I wasn't, because it was unjustified in regard to Tony Snow. I was pointing out something that's worse. Objectionable speech is nothing, actions speak louder than words. |

If that's the case, he has a very servere psychosis. You can't change your stance every 2 days on the same issue and believe everything you're saying. And you can't be stupid enough to deny's the presidents talking points. "he never said "stay the course EVER!". Or a good one, you'll have to ask the Pentagon themselves. The reasoning he said to do that? The Pentagon has nothing to do with the president or executive branch. He's either lying, or grossly unqualified. |
