It seems there was a fair amount of sentiment regarding the amount of time the Chicago P.D. put into the investigation of an alleged hate crime. The wasted resources, financial being the least of it, in a city where violence begets which means brings about violence. Whether it was investigators or patrol officers who were diverted from doing their primary work I do not know but "some bodys" were. Perhaps a poor analogy but people went to prison for Bridgegate - I understood and appreciated the righteous anger of that sordid affair. Beyond the frustration of sitting in traffic unable to get to work there was real consternation over the waste of resources and the fact that Emergency Services were potentially put in an untenable position, literally and figuratively. Just a thought but it is a good one. |
