But if they had riches they wouldn't be poor, would they?

LION says "Without the Rich ALL would be poor." And a heck of a lot poorer than they are now! Only a worker can create something of value, and it only has value if someone is willing to pay for it. So if someone does not have the wherewithal to buy your product, then you have wasted your time and resources making the product.
