It has nothing to do with being "tough enough." there have been recent incidents of operators, both train and bus being assaulted by unruly passengers which is why buses are now being equipped with protective screens which while not as secure as a T/O's operating cab offer some degree of protection. You are WRONG, randyo. Selkook was specifically, incorrectly, citing supposedly (not true) mentally retarded RAILFANS as the reason for not leaving the cab door open. It had NOTHING to do with the type of people who would assault an employee. His HIGH KOOKINESS was referring to employees not wanting to deal with inquisitive railfans. I quite correctly pointed out that the employees who are "real" are tough enough and man enough to leave the door unlocked AND enjoy doing so. They are not afraid of inquisitive railfans and they enjoy sharing their job with others, as well as following the rules of their job title. |
