So the structural work was done by early 1984. I'm surprised it took that long to complete it. I remember that crossover east of 121 St opening in Nov. 1987, as you mentioned. Before that there was single tracking from just east of 111 St station to 121 St via the Manhattan bound track using a switch to the middle storage track and a temporary realignment from the middle track to the Manhattan bound track, starting May 1985 when they chopped out a 2 block el section at 130 St. |
