That can be traced back to Newt Gingrich and continuing today to “MAGA populism.” Politics is now seen as a “zero sum” game where if your opponent has received anything you must have lost something, rather than working together to expand the pie for everyone. It doesn’t help that we live in an age of soundbites, tweets, gotcha moments, etc. People get their “news” 150 characters at a time rather than studying the issues. |

I suggest you try to find and read an article from The New Yorker magazine entitled "Trump's Legacy In Israel" by Ruth Margalit. It sums up Trump's relationship with Israel and articulates better than I could how basically if Israel was the 51st State of the US, it would be bright red based on Trump's accomplishments and the love the Israelis have for him. |

So, this article cannot be used as a basis for Israelis evaluating Trump vs. Biden. Also, note the article records praise for Trump and his embrace of Netanyahu from Netanyahu supporters. That's less than Israel's Jewish population, even in 2021. The quoted naysayers were part of Israel's defense establishment who realize the liabilities associated with ignoring the Palestinians. A lot has changed in Israel, since October 7th. Netanyahu and his supporters convinced the Israeli public the Palestinians could be contained, while Israeli settlers were free to colonize where they wished. That illusion has been shattered, just as the illusion that Israel could occupy the Sinai was shattered in 1973. The hard truth is that occupying hostile territory requires more personnel than Israel's standing army. It would require a full and permanent mobilization. The chief casualty would be Israel's economy. There's also Netanyahu's increasing unpopularity within Israel. The two factors are Netanyahu's stalling about getting the hostage return and his continued favoritism of the ultra orthodox minority to stay in office. |

Israel had nearly no presence in Gaza (aside from Shin Bet agents); they're pretty established in a lot of the West Bank, and they're expanding. Hamas was well-financed and organized; the PLA is neither. So far, the PLA has been on its back foot. It's going to be tough for Iran to supply them with weapons, the same way it does/did with Hamas. |

Not only that, how oppressed can the Jews be, when they own the strongest military in the Middle East?
