No, he was hand-selected by the Republicans to sit on the Supreme Court.

And Merchan was selected by judges, not elected officials.

Exactly.

The conviction may not hold up on appeal. But that wouldn't mean the case was rigged, only that the judge upheld the prosecution's view of the law but the appeals court didn't.

You oppose Thomas because he's black.

It just makes you wonder about Merchan, a known Trump hater, was picked since he wasn't part of the pool of the 24 judges that could have randomly been picked to oversee the case.

It was not only this case. He's been "randomly chosen" for many Trump related cases in NY. He's a 3rd worlder from a corrupt country just perfect for this sort of assignment.

Quora.Com. Besides, I'm sure what I posted can be easily verified, as in was he in the pool or wasn't he?

If the judge assignment panel picked Merchan in a manner contrary to NY law, Trump's appeal will be very easy.

But I would believe the lawyers here over Quora on that question.

😆..boy oh Boy.

Perfect example of selective outrage by Maggot Republicans.
Even when they are proven wrong with there accusations, they double down, stock and barrel..

The sheer dedication to the lies told to these "people" shows who they are at heart.
I appreciate this, because anyone FOREWARNED is also FOREARMED.

This is why I don't like Democrats.
They saw this coming, but sat on their hands doing nothing to put an end to these demons.

Apparently, they were working in tandem..one stirring the pot, the other watching the flames building.
Now, when the critical point has reached, the Dems are crying to everyone to "save democracy".

To save 'the Progressive movement',to save the Abortion mandate, to save.. what, exactly?

The flip side of that is to save conservative values, that has nothing to do with conservatism.

It's either, or.
Both party's are full of shit.

Maybe the WSJ is a bit more reliable than Quora?

New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan was assigned to preside over the hush-money prosecution of former President Donald Trump because he had experience overseeing previous litigation involving the former president and his company, according to people familiar with the process, but that history could complicate the proceedings and expose him to more of Mr. Trump’s attacks.

A newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation being reliable is an oxymoron.

Quora is fun for reading personal stories and personal advice. It's also interesting, if not fun, to read responses to troll questions like about gun control. I'm not sure if I would trust it on matters of fact, unless they provided links. Otherwise, the whole site can be pretty addictive, not unlike tvtropes.com.

Ah so then Jim and I were correct. The 3rd world, Trump hating judge was not coincidentally chosen to.preside over the case. He was hand picked by a corrupt NY Judiciary. Thank you for posting that.

The WSJ news pages are as reliable as just about anything other general news source.

I agree that their opinion pages print flat out lies on many occasions.
