Moreover it wasn't limited to "construction" jobs. There were projects for mathematicians, writers, actors, artists, etc. not to just hand out money to lazy bums who don’t want to work. As opposed to handing out grants to shell companies that skim 10% or more off the top? e.g. Whitefish for restoring power in Puerto Rico. |

There really isn't much government handsouts to "lazy bums", it's all to political cronies. I suggest some oversight agency or actual watchgroup try to get benefits and see what a #fail that ends up. Secondly, you know how many programs there are that almost NO one even knows about that needs them? I wonder where that excess money goes. It sounds all rosy to talk of the imaginary person needing assistance. But in reality, they ain't getting much, and in some cases, nothin' at all. |

The only major government programs I know of that pay people to do nothing are Social Security and government pensions. Why do people act like SS is a hole in the economy? Those checks get cashed and the money is spent locally for the most part. It may not fund a bridge but it goes to a local grocer, mechanic and barber etc and keeps the economy going. |
