Government did when they repealed prohibition.Truck drivers, brewmasters, distributers, bartenders, all up and down the blue collar line now had $$$ to buy the product they were making. Nobody (other than die hard temperance & organized crime types) complained. FDR's programs were by defination socialism . But when you're hungry you don't care what "ism" is feeding you. Being elected to 4 terms let FDR know how the country felt about his brand of socialism |
