FDR’s plan during the Depression was to create government-funded construction jobs that put people to work and put food on their tables.FDR's depression plans, like WPA, paid the money directly to the workers not private companies that employed workers. Moreover it wasn't limited to "construction" jobs. There were projects for mathematicians, writers, actors, artists, etc. not to just hand out money to lazy bums who don’t want to work. As opposed to handing out grants to shell companies that skim 10% or more off the top? e.g. Whitefish for restoring power in Puerto Rico. |
