They just closed a lot of schools in New York because kids weren't passing their classes or their tests, and no one really complained.It's one thing to close down schools (and replace them with new schools) and move the students to alternative schools, but it's another to stop watering down the curriculum and impose higher standards that may create a higher failure rate that's especially disproportionately heavier on black and Hispanic students. |
