I don't think it was racism or a grudge from their overlap at that club.I think Chauvin heard, "I can't breathe" as an escalation and mouthing off from someone who was going to jail. Chauvin was going to show the perp and especially onlookers that he isn't afraid of a brutality charge. But he kept his knee on for too long. (and you can bet every cop in America is asking why Chauvin's partners didn't do a better job of intimidating and dispersing the crowd instead of letting them get video and audio footage just 5 yards away) |
