Is your cognitive dissonance that bad oh, that you can't even accept history? When the Portuguese discovered West Africa in the mid-1400s, that's where they were introduced to the notion of chattel slavery. When local tribes for each other, they made their prisoners into slaves, and bartered them. Should I now deny the whole European slavery issue, that has been going on in the Mediterranean region since time immortal? |
