The flag in controversy, however, has but thirteen stars, and flew exclusively during a time when slavery was legal everywhere in the Union.

If the Founding Fathers and the Constitution's Framers had wanted to abolish slavery in their new nation, they would have. Kaepernick has a point about why the proposed shoe design is inappropriate.
