That situation is very similar to what Greyhound was in when Fred Currey ran that line (nearly into the ground) and hired ex truckers as replacements, a few of them who could NOT handle a highway bus worth a damn. One reportedly ran over a small girl with a bus and with fatal results. What this country needs is a NATIONWIDE GENERAL STRIKE and not just a bus company struck, but nationwide general strike. That's beside the point. The idea of Shortline hiring scabs to drive the buses is a good way of inviting violence, which seems to be the only effective way left for the average working joe to redress his or her grievances since nothing else will get the higher ups' attention. |
