It's a balance.Many drivers have gone off to run their own companies. Some have been left shirtless in the process. So if you think good drivers are more important than good management, you don't understand the business. Even the best owner-operators get a lot of their work from other people because they have little time to do it themselves. Unions have a habit of crossing into another company's turf when it serves the purpose. ATU 726 likes taking work from 1181, for example, because they think they are better. Frankly, I could say that all of the S89 drivers are gypsy operators because they run illegal services. However, management makes those decisions, so why go off on the "replacement workers"?. Frankly, most union members would not extend the same courtesy to them. |
