Connecting electric shuttles Jamaica to GCT?You don't want the diesel riders to connect to a train coming from another branch. That would be worse than Hunterspoint and two subway stops. Yes, and I am a diesel line resident so I know the plight. However, with ESA, the need for HP Ave will be much less. Unless you are lucky enough to work right around Grand Central, today, most HP Ave riders take the train to HP Ave, then take the 7 to GC, and then transfer to the Lexington Line. With ESA, they transfer at Jamaica, for the train to GC, and then get the Lexington Ave line there. There's no additional train, and it's the same number of transfers, except they don't have to cram on the 7 train in between. |

This of course carried its own penalty, because in other countries where industry was destroyed, new and more efficient infrastructure was built to replace what was destroyed. They later got ahead of us because of that efficiency No; they got "ahead of us" due to greed in this country on the part of global industrialists. That's the only thing that turned us "postindustrial". Furthermore, not all industry in our enemies' countries was destroyed, and especially with Germany, foolish politicians decided to let people like Krupp and others go free . . . |

Grand Central North lets them off close enough, but if they're that lazy, they'll do what sloth mandates. As for right now until ESA opens, it strikes me as smart to evaluate whether some or all northbound V route trains during the AM peak period should go via 8 Av to supplement E route service. |

Not people that transfer at Lex/51, I meant people whose work place is there. Instead of Hunterspoint to 7 to 6, GCT north will be close enough not to make the one stop ride on the 6.And since you mention it, many current Penn to E users who get off at Lex/53 will also shift to ESA and save the subway fare. |
