Only way a thing like this could be done is if you have an extension track that can go to the bellmouth's to what could of been the super-express connection if there is room. Other than that with lots of F train service, and I have seen this myself at Lex-63, it would be totally be impossible to add Q's there unless the Q gets extended to 71-Continental. Now with the extra R68 going there and the W getting the added R160, there will be a more vast uniform fleet for the Q. |

How would replacing a line that runs through 60th Street with one that runs through 63rd overwhelm a line that goes through 53rd? The only thing that changes is Queens Line north of QP loses direct access to two stations (Lex/60 and 5th/CPS), which can be reached by either transferring at QP, walking 7 blocks north, or walking 3 blocks south. The V line has been described as being sparsely used, even during rush hours. It needs a good workout. |

The 60th St line provides for a transfer to the Lex. The 63rd St line does NOT provide for a transfer to the Lex. If QB riders are deprived of the transfer to the Lex by diverting trains to 63rd St, than many more riders will use the already crowded E train to 53rd St. This is why I don't think that we will see the N train use the 63rd St connector. |

No way. The F can handle even more crowding than it does now. If necessary, they can add an extra train or two by eliminating one of the 179th-bound E's. RI riders were spoiled by 12 years of near empty trains when service was truncated at 21st St. That was never supposed to be how service was to run. The current service is what was envisioned and they need to accept this. You're gonna stand all the way to your destination. All 7 minutes of your trip ... |

Have you ever seen an R train between QBP and Lexington Ave? It gets heavy use between these two stations, probably for the more convenient IRT transfer (it was madness back in the day when it was the ONLY transfer option to IND Queens riders).
