I like your style boy. I done so many hikes like that it ain't funny. That's the way to do it bro, transit out to somewhere and follow your feet. One of the reasons I like Jersey so much. So many ways to amble and never be too far from a transit connection. Take a train to a station somewhere, walk away from the town, you know eventually you'll come upon another rail line or bus that'll take you back. I don't know, I've always found it just cool to walk through towns like that. When you're walking it's a feeling of freedom that driving can't equal, IMO.

IAWTP. Something I do more frequently in New York recently and something I always do in New Jersey since I know my way around alot.

I thought alot of the capital funds the MTA uses come from federal funds shelled out by the FTA, and the chump change we get from the tight pursestrings of the State.

On a different note...why do the R44s on the SIR vibrate horribly? I know it could be coming from a number of things, whether it be the R44s being worn out, the trucks need replacing, or the wooden ties are worn out, but when riding it, it's not clear as the tracks look like they're in fairly good condition.

Not the tracks. They are in good shape. I didn't notice any vibrations on my recent round trip to New Dorp. Was I just lucky?
