That's exactly the meaning "Get away from the city hussle and bussle and relax near the beach, if you can afford the trip you certainly can afford a rental or cab." Most of Florida has crappy transit. |

The "offense" is worse than crappy advertising from an area that has crappy mass transit.Fact is-- the Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater area has crappy weather in January and February. It's totally misleading to portray people frolicking on the beach in those months when, in fact, the weather is awful most days. You might **occasionally** see a day that hits 80. You have a MUCH better chance of slogging to the beach to find temps in the 60s. Even 50s. By March, it warms up a little-- but NO guarantee of a hot day at all. If you're desperate for a warm day in Jan or Feb, head to PR. Central FL is normally quite chilly. Miami/Ft Laud is a little warmer but, again, no guarantees. I commute to FL 2x/mo year round. Believe me, I know. |

Tampa/Clearwater may not be in the 80's in January or February, but I'll take the 60's and 70's to a NYC Winter.Besides. the wraps bring sorely-needed revenue to the cash-strapped MTA. |

Well, another central FL factoid.Since most houses sit on cement slabs, an outdoor temp of 60 means an inside temp in the 50s. Which, at least for me, means running the electric heating system. Which means a monthly electric bill of $400, higher than during the a.c. months. NY may have brutal winters but at least it's warm inside without astronomical electic bills. |

The interiors are high quality work, but, are they effective? I'd bet that 99% of the riders do not remember the a subject of the ads if asked. Also, are they just exercises in ego stroking for Madison ave? A total waste just like the shuttle itself. |

How about the "Freedom Tower" while we're at it? Maybe make it look like a package of 5gum?People expect ads on public transit and besides full car wraps are isolated only to the 42 St shuttle. It is creative and gets attention but most importantly brings in badly needed money to the MTA. MTA has to have alternative sources of revenue besides fares such as ads and real estate. They've talked about naming rights to stations but that would be a one time fee rather than recurring fees for ads. They really need to work on really estate cause they have a renovated mezzanine on the south end of the Columbus Circle that has sat empty for years. |
